Privacy Policy

This page is written in plain language so it's actually useful, not just legal cover. It has not been reviewed by a lawyer — if you rely on it for formal compliance (GDPR, CCPA, etc.), have counsel review it first.

What We Collect

Catering & Yellow Bus requests — name, email, phone, event date, guest count, and any event details you type into the form.
Feedback — your message, plus name and email if you choose to include them. If you check the optional "feature this on our site" box, we'll also store that you opted in.
Newsletter sign-up (Hyphy Insiders) — your email address, sent to beehiiv (our email provider) so we can send you drops, new menu items, and location news you opted into.
Basic site analytics (only if you accept the cookie banner) — pages viewed, general device/browser info, and referral source, used to see what's working on the site.
Server logs — standard technical logs (IP address, timestamp) kept briefly for security and abuse prevention (e.g. our submission rate limiter).

Why We Collect It

To respond to your catering or bus booking request and plan your event.
To read and respond to feedback about our food, service, or the site.
To feature real customer feedback on our site — only the feedback you explicitly opt in to share, shown with your first name only.
To send newsletter updates you opted into (menu drops, events, promos).
To understand how people use the site so we can improve it, and — if we run ads — to measure whether they're working. Both are gated behind the cookie banner's consent, off by default.

We do not sell your personal information.

How Long We Keep It

Catering/bus request details and feedback messages are kept for up to 24 months, then deleted through a periodic cleanup process. Newsletter emails are kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete your data sooner at any time — see below.

Who We Share It With

Toast — our point-of-sale/online ordering provider, for orders placed through Toast.
DoorDash / Uber Eats — if you order through their apps, your order data is handled under their own privacy policies, not ours.
Shopify — powers our merch store checkout.
Our hosting provider (Replit) — hosts the site and the database that stores form submissions.
beehiiv — our email/newsletter provider. If you sign up for Hyphy Insiders, your email is stored with beehiiv to send you updates and manage your subscription.

We don't sell or rent your information to anyone else.

Cookies & Tracking

We show a cookie banner on your first visit. If you choose "Necessary only," we don't load any analytics or advertising scripts — only what's required for the site to function. If you choose "Accept all," we may load traffic analytics and, in the future, ad/retargeting pixels. You can change your mind by clearing your browser's site data and revisiting, which will show the banner again.

Your Choices

Want to see what we have on file for you, or want it deleted? Email us at privacy@hyphyburger.com with the name/email/phone you used, and we'll look it up and delete it on request — usually within a few business days.

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
